William Edward Ashworth
William Edward Ashworth passed away at the age of 72 in Ashland, VA. He was born on May 6, 1951, in Farmville, Virginia, to Ruby Ashworth and the late Uriel G Ashworth. Ed was a beloved husband to Janet Ashworth and a cherished father to his daughters and family; Erica Beard (James), and their children, Ellwood, Langston, & Silas; and Hilaire Ashworth his daughters. Niece; Jenn Pound (Travis) their children Leah and Sophie. Ed was the brother to two sisters, Bonnie Ashworth and Winona Proffitt (Robert) their daughter Gayle Gee (JW), children, Thomas, Natalie and Taylor. He had numerous cousins and friends as well. Ed was a kind and thoughtful individual who had a great sense of humor. He was serious at times but always found a way to bring laughter into the lives of those around him. He adored his family, especially his wife and daughters, and considered himself fortunate to have them. Ed had a passion for music and was an avid piano player. He also had a deep appreciation for art and enjoyed exploring with his wife in his Porsche. Professionally, Ed had a successful career as a Chiropractor and Acupuncturist. He was highly skilled and dedicated to improving the well-being of his patients. William’s educational background included attending Parkview High School and furthering his studies at the University of Richmond and Life University in Atlanta. In his spiritual journey, Ed found solace and community at various places of worship, including Mt. Horeb Baptist, Mt. Olivet Baptist, Beaverdam Baptist, West End Assembly of God, and Bible Fellowship at Rockville. A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Ed at Hunton Baptist Church, located at 16611 Greenwood Rd, Glen Allen, VA., Saturday, August 26th at 3:00 p.m. Friends and loved ones are invited to join in remembering and celebrating the life of this remarkable individual. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation, and Parkinsonhope.org, a charitable organization dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease. William Edward Ashworth will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory live on in the hearts of those he touched, and may he rest in eternal peace.
