Vernon Parker, Jr.

Vernon Parker, Jr. was born to Vernon Parker, Sr. (deceased)and Connie Parker (deceased ) on 12/4/1954, in Richmond, Virginia. Vernon graduated high school.  He worked for UPS for several years, which is where he retired.  He always kept a job. He had odds and ends jobs until his demise.  Vernon was ambiguous, smart and a jack of all trades.  He loved shooting the breeze, having a cold beer and talking with the neighborhood guys.  He was a true jokester and had a heart of gold.  He was a true handyman who could fix anything related to home improvement.  He loved and adored his mother and was her primary
caregiver until her demise.  Vernon never married and never had any children.  He had a loving friend, Ms. Jones, who was supportive and helped him until his last breath.   Vernon Jr. was a private and strong man who did not want to burden people with his troubles.  He transitioned peacefully on 11/25/2023 at 8:03 am.  May God continue to protect and keep him.  Vernon had three surviving sisters and a host of cousins, family and friends.  Thanks to Richmond Coach & Cremation Service for their services.

John 11 v 25-26
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”

“The Broken Chain”
We little knew that morning.
God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly,
in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you;
you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories
your love is still our guide,
and though we cannot see you,
you’re always at our side.
Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

I miss the talks, I miss your words of encouragement even when you had your own situation. You were and will always be my Goliath. Rest on Handsome soldier until I see you and dad again.

Love you cousin. You finally found your peace. It’s shame you don’t realize how important someone is to your family sometimes until their gone. Love you for life❤️
