Ruth Mosley Thompson

Ruth Mosley Thompson (Granny), 104, went home to be with her Lord on November 1, 2024. Born on April 26, 1920, Ruth lived a life rich in faith, grace, and devotion. Known for her unwavering love of God, she touched the lives of all who knew her, offering wisdom, kindness, and strength rooted in her deep Christian beliefs. Ruth’s journey through life was marked by a steadfast commitment to her family, friends, and faith community.  Her joy in the Lord was infectious, and she radiated peace and love, leaving a legacy of faith that will live on in those who were blessed to know her. 
 
Her devotion to the teachings of Christ was evident in every aspect of her life. Whether volunteering in church, leading Bible studies, or simply lending an ear to those in need, Ruth was a beacon of light and faith. Her compassion, humility, and sense of purpose guided her through a long and remarkable life.
 
Ruth is survived by her children, Sharon Serine (Stuart Serine) and Robert Thompson (Terri Thompson), stepchildren, Susan Bain, and FW Abernathy (Brenda Abernathy), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren who adored her and will cherish the memories of her loving presence. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ernest S. Thompson and her second husband, Floyd Abernathy.
 
Ruth will be remembered in a celebration of her life and faith at Dinwiddie Baptist Church at 2:00 on Saturday November 9, 2024.
