Robert T. Ryder “Bobby”, of Bumpass, VA died on December 15, 2024 of cancer.  He was born in Orange County where he was taken in by the foster family, Daisy & Charlie Swift, of Montpelier, VA.  He began his working career at Sigma Phi Fraternity in the mail department.  Then, went to S.E.C Computer Company in shipping for 17 years.  He then moved to Hanover County Public Schools where he found his true home.  He served in maintenance and then as  a custodian at Patrick Henry High School, where he worked until he retired.  He was an active member of Fork Baptist Church in Louisa, VA.

Bobby is survived by his chosen family Beth Farris, Jason and Alaina Cooper.

A memorial service will be held on January 4, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Patrick Henry High School.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Patrick Henry Food Pantry or the a cancer institute of your choice.
