Kurt Ramseyer

Kurt Ramseyer, 76, passed away peacefully on February 21st, 2025 in Richmond, Virginia in the company of his wife and son. 

 

Kurt is survived by his Wife Margaret Ramseyer; Son Daniel  (Ashley); Granddaughters Braelyn & Kinley; Brothers Res, Werner (Ellen); Sister Heidi and a host of extended family members and friends.

 

He is preceded in death by his Parents Werner and Anna and Brother Hans.

 

Kurt was born on September 8th,1948 in Riggisberg, Switzerland. He grew up in Spengelried, Switzerland and lived there until 1970. Kurt then moved to Lausanne, Switzerland, where he married Margaret in 1977. In 1980, his job led him to be transferred to West Caldwell, New Jersey. He lived in West Caldwell, New Jersey until 2018 when he relocated to Virginia to be closer to Daniel, Ashley & Granddaughters Braelyn and Kinley. Through the years Kurt loved spending time in the mountains, skiing, enjoying local parks and soaking in every minute with his Granddaughters.

 

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses of VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia. 

 

A public celebration of his life will be held Sunday, March 9th from 1pm to 4pm at Margaret’s place of residence in Chesterfield, Virginia. A public celebration of his life will follow Saturday, May 17th from 3pm to 5pm at Grover Cleveland Park located in New Jersey. Friends and Family are asked to meet at the building located at the pond inside Grover Cleveland Park. A private celebration will take place in July with his and Margaret’s Swiss family in Grindelwald, Switzerland.
