Johnny Yancey (60), beloved husband, father, son, and brother passed away peacefully on Monday October 9, 2023, at MCV, Virginia after a courageous battle with cancer. The son of John and Lucile Yancey. He was a 1981 graduate from Manchester High School. While attending high school, he started working for Alpine Construction and had continued to be there for 45 years. To Johnny Alpine was more than just a job, it was a second family.

            Johnny loved spending time outdoors and had a passion for fishing with his wife Connie. He was a man of many skills and liked to help others. His mischievousness and infectious laugh will be greatly missed by many.

            He is preceded in death by his father John Yancey. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Debbie (Yancey) Briere, his loving wife of 30 years, Connie Yancey, his daughter Taylor Yancey, and his son Glen Yancey; numerous family members and a host of dear friends.

            A celebration of life will be held at a future date and will be announced as details are available.
