John Corbit Bly (b. Wednesday September 4, 1974, d. Sunday April 23, 2023) 

We are so sad to announce the passing of John Bly of Richmond, Virginia.  He was 48 years old, and predeceased by parents, Jim and Thelma Bly, brother Steve Bly, and nephew Phillip Bly.  He is survived by brother, Jamie Bly and Vickie Spinos.  Sister, Jennifer Bly Patton and Brian.  Sister-in-laws, Sharon Richardson, Barbara Payne, and Janice Bly.  Nephews, Zack Bly, Sam Bly, Kevin Bly, and Andrew Bly.  Friends, Mark and Jan.  

John grew up in Powhatan County, and was good with his hands, working as a landscaper for many years.  He always cut his corn off the cobb before eating it.  He loved fresh brewed sweet ice tea, and could wear cargo shorts and a hoodie year round.  He loved his orange tabby cat, Orion, and his boxer Shay.  We believe the sea story, Moby Dick to be his favorite book.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 3rd, 11am, at the Powhatan Community Cemetery near the Courthouse.
