John C. Cole

John C. Cole of Lanexa VA passed away at home on 8/21/2024. He survived by his wife of 40 years, Connie Ryan Cole, their son, Charlie Cole (Melissa) and Maggie, his dog, his sister-in-law Libby Cole and nieces, Becky and Lauri (Michael).  He was predeceased by his parents, Walter C Cole and Margaret R Cole and his brother, Jerry L Cole.

John was born in Newport News VA, June 14, 1949. He graduated from Ferguson High School in Newport News in 1967 and then Elon College in Elon NC in 1971. He spent the vast majority of his career with Sydnor Hydro in Richmond until his retirement in 2015.

John loved his time on the Chickahominy River, boating and skiing, his dogs, washing cars and having a “cold and delicious” with his friends. He was a fan of Classic Rock Music and enjoyed going to concerts with his fraternity brother and good friend Chris Butcher. Most of all he loved his family.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
