JoAnna Lawrence DeBolt

JoAnna Lawrence DeBolt, 87, of Quinton, Virginia, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 18th, 2024.

She was born in Richmond to John Lawrence and Hellen (Clark) Lawrence and raised with the loving help of her aunts. After graduation from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1956 she went on to receive a degree from Southwestern University followed by continued studies in art at Ringling.

Throughout her life JoAnna’s passion for non-profit work led her to positions as Executive Director of the American Cancer Society and Associate Director at the Central Virginia Food Bank. She also had a passion for teaching, leading courses for food safety for the state of Virginia and was an Instructor at Gulf Coast Community College in Florida.

She was proceeded in death by her Parents, Brother John H Lawrence, Son Douglas DeBolt, and ex-husband David DeBolt of Panama City Beach, Florida. She leaves behind her daughter Lyn Perkins (William), Grandchildren, Kristen (Kevin), Scott, Amanda, Sydney (Andrew), and Trey, plus 5 Great Grandsons Jack, Dalton, Rylan, Oakley, and Lucas.

JoAnna (GG) loved life with a bit of sparkle to it. She enjoyed reading, classical music, art, and spending time with family. She especially loved her Great Grandsons both far and near. Her most precious moments included swinging on the porch singing silly songs, having ice cream dates, and doing arts and crafts. Though some did not live close they were never far from her thoughts.

Though we mourn the loss of GG we find comfort in knowing that she is at peace and her carefree spirit will always be with us.
