In the early morning of November 13, 2023, Inez Elnora Gay,  affectionately known to family and friends as “Micee,” was called home to be with the Lord.

Inez was born on May 31, 1955 to the late Elnora “Moose” Gay and Harry Smith in Sussex County, Virginia.  She attended Sussex Central High school.  She received her diploma from T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Virginia.  Inez is preceded in death by her brother Charles Gay.  

Inez was a (CNA) for several years.  She loved taking care of and caring for others.

Inez leaves behind loving and lasting memories of her two sons Marvell and Montrell Gay; grandchildren, DeMontaz Simmons, Kendale Pertlow, JaQuay Thweat, Ronleash Jones, DeMontre Gay, Destiny Ellis, Teon Ellis, and Tiffany Ware; and great-grandchildren, Riley and Rilean Seaborn,  Nazir Gay, and Ja’Nya Quinonez.

Inez is survived by ten siblings, James Gay, Clyde Gay, Connie Hamlin, Yvonne Gay, Harold Gay, Sharon Gay, Carol Gay, Carolyn Gay, Xavier Williams, and Corey Gay.

She is also survived by a host of uncles, aunts, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Inez was a true believer in the Lord and read the Bible faithfully.
