Helen Dorothy Alice Stubert Campbell

Helen Dorothy Alice Strubert Campbell. 9/9/36-9/3/2020.  Helen was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the eldest child of John and Frances Strubert. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William Joseph Campbell Jr. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gay Lynn and William Van Vleck, grandson Jack Campbell Van Vleck, siblings Frances DiIanni, Emily Areson and Michael Strubert, three nieces and seven nephews. She retired from Nations Bank in Richmond.  Prior to moving to the Richmond area, as a military wife, Helen enjoyed duty stations in Long Beach, CA, Bremerton, WA, Great Lakes, IL, Philadelphia, PA and Norfolk, VA but her favorite was the 16 years spent in Naples and Gaeta Italy.  She loved New York City, spicy foods, small dogs, gardening and baking.  Per her request, there will be no formal services.  Please toast her life with a piece of chocolate.  In lieu of flowers or cards, consider donation to your local animal shelter or the USO at uso.org.
