Garrett Emery Miller, Jr.

Garrett Emery Miller Jr., 93, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Garrett was born in Sunbury PA on June 28, 1931, to Garrett Emery Miller Sr. and Sarah (Moore) Miller. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Terence Lee Miller.

Garrett graduated from Penn State University in 1953 with a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy and spent his career traveling the country providing advice and counsel to farmers on how to improve the production of crops on their farms, as well as provided advice on how to grow and maintain the turf on golf courses and sports stadiums.  Garrett also served in the United States Airforce. In his spare time, on the weekends, you would find Garrett on the golf course. 

Garrett is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Shelby (Davis) Miller, sons Garrett III (Pam) Miller, Glen Allen, VA., Michael Miller, Henrico, VA, and Christopher (Christy) Miller Goochland, VA., daughters and son-in-law, Dee (Randy) Bennett, Nichols, NY, Melissa Brown, Woodbridge, VA, daughter-in-law Melanie Miller, Smithboro, NY.

Garrett is also survived by his grandchildren, Gina Holmes, Logan (Jonathan) Jenkins, Tory (Nick) Kinger, Nathan Miller and his partner Marianne Brown, Stefanie (Ben) Miller Jones, Daniel Miller, Adrian (Lizze) Miller, Lilly Miller, Ashley Bennett, Kristin (Mike) Carvajal, Alexis Brown, Lukas Brown, and his partner Meghan Jerauld.  Great grandchildren, Emery Jenkins, Lilly Mezzatesta, Veda Bennett.

Services will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
