Edmund “Ned” Parke West IV
West IV, Edmund “Ned” Parke, 42, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 27, 2024 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his loving parents Parke and Brenda Ragland West, his sister and brother-in-law Keri-Anne West and Doug Walker, his beloved niece Molly, cousins Stacey Harris and Stephanie Poitras and their families, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was blessed with numerous friends and “framily,” including those from “Racine’s” and “Wonderland.”
Ned was born in Richmond, VA and grew up in Mechanicsville. He spent some time living in Nashville, TN and Raleigh, NC. He was a graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel College where he learned how to do custom auto body work, but his true passion was music. A very talented guitarist, he was often found strumming the guitar from an early age. His experiences playing guitar were diverse, from playing in the praise band at church to playing with the rock band the “Hellnecks” in RVA. He loved going to see live music and would often stay after to meet the band.
Ned never knew a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. He had a huge heart and was compassionate and sensitive to those he loved. He always had comforting hugs to give and a shoulder to cry on. Ned loved his family, friends, playing games, The Office, karaoke, and his animals. He was a believer in animal rescue and has now been reunited with his dear pit bull, Lola, and constant orange feline companion, Boy. A thoughtful, kind soul, he will be dearly missed by many. We are no longer able to hold him but he is now in the arms of Jesus.
A Celebration of Ned’s Life will be held Saturday, September 28th 2:00-5:00pm at Another Round or 2 Bar and Grill, 109 Commons Park Circle, Manquin, VA 23106 pm. Please bring your guitars, karaoke voices, and best Ned stories. Children are welcome.
Memorial contributions may be made to FETCH a Cure or Ring Dog Rescue.
