
Donna Rae Reed Washington
Donna Rae Reed Washington, born March 10, 1950, passed away peacefully in her home on February 1, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Vivian Reed, the father of her children, Charles Washington, Jr., and her great nephew Caden Reed. Donna is survived by her children, Sharon Denton-Reed (Jess), and Brian Washington, Sr. (Amanda); brothers Dale Reed (Janie) and Edward Reed (Leo); grandchildren Amber Hall (Matt), Carl Brannan, Scott Burgess, Heather Maupin (Timmy), Brian Washington, Jr., Finley Denton-Reed, and Cohen Denton-Reed; great grandchildren, Kember, CJ, Izzy, Luna, Celeste, Theo, Danni, Leon, Greyson, Oliver, and Myles; nieces and nephews, Tina Reed-Phillips (Michelle), Ryan Reed (Shannyn), Brandon Reed (Ashley), and Afton Reed; great nieces and nephews, Savannah (Max), Morgan, Gracie, Penelope, and Hazel; and her beloved cousins Noelle Boraski and Pat Lynch.Donna lived a life dedicated to her family and her Lord. She was a proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, always making sure the people close to her were happy and well taken care of. Donna also devoted a generous portion of her time to serving her church. She was a deacon, a Sunday school teacher, a caregiver, and chauffeur among many other roles. If someone needed a hand, Donna was always willing to lend hers.After many years working in customer care positions, Donna retired and spent her time as a caregiver to her mother as well as several friends. She also spent many hours volunteering her time with various charities. From her missionary work in Africa to her local commitment to Lamb’s Basket Food Pantry, Donna was always giving back. Everyone who knew her knows how big her heart was.Donna also enjoyed traveling. She enjoyed cruises with her friends and spending time with family in Colonial Beach. She was thrilled to have fulfilled her dream of seeing the Liberty Bell just two years ago.Services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Glen Allen Baptist Church at 11:00 amwith a reception to follow. Donations in Donna’s honor can be made to Lamb’s Basket Food Pantry by mail to P.O. box 3064, Henrico Virginia, 23228. The family is also asking for anyone who is able to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to Lamb’s Basket in honor of Donna and her giving spirit.
