Dianne Chesson Brown, 74, of Midlothian, Virginia, passed away on March 23, 2023.  Dianne was born the only child of Kenneth and Mattie Chesson on in Norfolk, VA.  She lived in the Tidewater area until she was transferred by her company to Chesterfield County, Virginia in 1984.  She was preceded in death by her husband Richard M. Brown and is survived by her children, Ben Williams (Carolyn) of Roanoke, VA and Erin Williams (Robin) of Cudjoe Key, FL; stepchildren, Tony Brown (Kay) of Gloucester, VA, Dirk Otto (Kadija) of Fredericksburg, VA, and Amy Brown (Greg) of Durango, CO; grandchildren, Grace and Claire Williams, Osmany Morales; step-grandchildren, Maggie Brown, Nina Otto, Alex Brown, and Jack Brown.  She also preceded her beloved dog and constant companion, Sparky.

Dianne graduated from Granby High School in Norfolk, VA, and then went on to study at Louise Obici Hospital School of Nursing.  She became an RN and worked at Maryview Hospital, Travelers Insurance, Johnson & Higgins, and Marsh & McClennan, where she retired as a Vice President of Risk Consulting. Dianne was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and  loved to travel, including trips to Spain, France, Italy, England, Belize, and the Bahamas.  In her later years she struggled with multiple health conditions, but continued to find joy in her family, caregivers, and dog.

The family invites friends to a brief service followed by a celebration of Dianne’s life at St. John’s Episcopal Church on June 3, 2023, at 2:00 pm.
