Sharpe, 80, of Mechanicsville, VA on December 12, 2024.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Lillian Merkel; brother, Richard Merkel; and her beloved Pomeranian, Muffin.  She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Donald Sharpe of Mechanicsville, VA; son, Michael Arnold, Sr. (Laura) of Mechanicsville, VA; step-daughter, Pamela Peters (Gary) of King William, VA; grandchildren, Tony, Kendall, Chris and Preston; sisters, Barbara Bagby of Mississippi and Mary Brann (Meggie, Sr.) of North Carolina; a niece and three nephews.

Anita was born in Richmond, VA and graduated from Hermitage High School in 1962.  She worked many years at Robert Shaw Controls prior to retiring form Hanover County Social Services.  She loved the Lord and devoted many joyful years as a pianist/organist for Calvary Christian Church and Biltmore Baptist Church.

Aside from music, she enjoyed skating, swimming, bowling, watching her westerns, and spoiling the many pups she owned throughout the years.  In addition, later in life, she discovered her love of riding motorcycles and made many trips to Myrtle Beach for bike week.  Her Harley Davidson was her pride and joy and it broke her heart when she could no longer ride.
