Stacey Thornton

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Stacey Thornton, a loving mother, wife, sister, and grandmother, who departed this life on November 4, 2024 at the age of 47. Unfortunately, her journey on earth ended after a good fight, surrounded by the love of her family. She grew up in Baltimore city until she moved to Virginia later in adulthood to settle down. She worked in the nursing field as a caregiver. Her favorite color was green, & she had a deep admiration for dolphins. Beautiful inside and out with a sense of humor that would have you laughing for days!! Believe me if you know you know.

Stacey was a woman of incredible strength, kindness, and unwavering love. She was the cherished mother of Vernon, Veronica, Fonso, and Jayla, and the beloved wife of her husband, Charlie. Her love for her children and family was boundless, and she leaves behind a legacy of warmth, & laughter.

As a grandmother, Stacey was a ray of sunshine in the lives of her grandkids—Donavon, Dallis, Cashiya, Tavion, Dasani, and Dakota. She brought joy and wisdom to their lives, always ready to share a funny story, lend an ear, or offer a loving hug. Her influence will remain a treasured part of their hearts.

She is also survived by her siblings: Clinton (Teresa) Gene Jr., Peggy, and Melissa, each of whom she loved deeply. The bond of family was something she held dear, and she was a constant source of support and joy to all who knew her.

Stacey was preceded in death by her daughter Ashley, grandson Damarius, father Gene Sr, and her beloved mother, Ginga, who she will soon be reunited with in heaven. We take comfort in the belief that she is at peace, embracing those she has lost with the same love and devotion she shared with all of us.

While our hearts are heavy with grief, we find solace in knowing that her spirit will continue to live on in the countless memories & laughter she has left behind. Her love for her family, and her strength will guide us as we move forward.

May she rest in eternal peace, and may her love continue to surround and uplift us all.
