Jane Catherine Krider
Jane Catherine Krider, 86, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, formerly of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2024, in Richmond, Virginia, surrounded by family members. She is survived by her children, Pamela Crumpler, Jeff Krider, and Diane Blair. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Jane was born on October 3, 1937, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Beatrice and Charles Wyatt. She was the loving wife to the late Paul Krider for 40 years and Stan Kalinski for 10 years.
After graduating from Patterson High School in Baltimore, Jane worked in an insurance company office and married Paul R. Krider in 1955. She continued working until she started a family in 1957. Once her children were raised, Jane re-entered the workforce in retail. She furthered her education by earning a certification as a dental surgical assistant, specializing in periodontics and orthodontics, and worked in the field for over 10 years.
Jane was deeply committed to volunteering, serving as a court-appointed special advocate for neglected children and working with a non-profit equine therapy organization for disabled children. She was an active member of St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church, both in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.
As a snowbird, Jane split her time between Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Naples, Florida. She later took up golf and proudly joined the Hole-in-One club. Jane loved traveling, biking, road trips, playing cards with family, reading, and watching great movies.
Known for her warmth and kindness, Jane never met a stranger and was the matriarchal light of her family, sharing a rich tradition of storytelling and laughter. She maintained deep friendships, some lasting over 65 years, and brought love, laughter, and a passion for togetherness to her family.
Jane’s warmth, love, and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered in our hearts and prayers.
