Benjamin Kaines Herman

Benjamin Kaines Herman passed away unexpectedly at Chippenham Hospital on August 9, 2024 at the age of 24. He was a beloved husband, son, brother, and a friend to many. Benjamin, a resident of Richmond, Virginia, was born on October 26, 1999 in in Valdosta, Georgia. He was adopted in Macon, Georgia and brought home to Fairfax, Virginia where he spent his early childhood. Benjamin had lived in multiple states and spent his adult life in the Richmond, Virginia area where he met his wife. 
 
Benjamin attended Middleburg High School his Freshman year in Clay County, Florida and was a 2017 high school graduate of Penn-Foster Academy. He had begun a career in the automotive repair industry and served as a shift lead and acting Assistant Manager for a local oil change company. Benjamin was known for his infectious laugh, fierce loyalty, and his innate ability to see the good in everybody. He adored his wife and cared deeply for his family, his friends, and his dog. 
 
Benjamin is survived by his wife Deondria “Dee” Herman (nee Maye), parents Daniel and Karen Herman, siblings Joy Corbin (Lyle), Elizabeth Scholla (Brian), Amanda Herman, and Joseph Herman, as well as his niece, uncle, nephews, maternal grandparents, and several cousins.  
 
A private service will be held at a later date.
