Nick Reginald Chennault, Jr.
Mr. Nick Chennault, Jr., aka Bud, Big Nick, Dadee, and Nicky, was born on September 29, 1939in Richmond, VA to the late Nick Chennault, Sr. and Margaret Ford Chennault. He passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024 in Richmond, VA, at the age of 84. He attended Armstrong High School in Richmond, VA, where he was a decorated football player. Coaches echoed his name even after his children entered both Armstrong and Walker high schools.
He married his high school sweetheart, Ms. Bertha L. Wallace “Jefferson”. In 1962, he joined the United States Army and received a Parachutist Badge and an Expert Rifle Badge. He met and married the late Mrs. Christina Chennault “Tina”. He drove tractor trailers for freight companies and retired from ABF Freight System, Inc. after 12 years of service.
He met and married his devoted wife, the late Mozell Bernice Chennault. He attended to her in sickness in her last days. He is preceded in death by his devoted wife, Mozelle Bernice Chennault, his mother, Margaret Chennault, his father, Nick Chennault, Sr., two sisters, Carol Gregory “Sissy” a Janice Jackson “Babyday” (late Randy), one daughter, LaJune Brunson “Pooh”, two grandsons, Evan Woodson and Ein Muhammad.
He is survived by six children, Anita Saunders (Shirl), Cassandra White (Joseph), Nikki Simpson, Nick R. Chennault, Jr. (Margaret), Stacy Chennault, Nick R. Chennault III, two step-daughters, Wanda Chennault and Michelle Dickerson, one step-son, Michael Dickerson, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and family members.
