Patricia Agnes Larsen
PATRICIA AGNES LARSEN, “Patty”, “Ms. Pat”, 67, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from stage 4, Triple Negative breast cancer (TNBC). She was born to James Hart and Julia Ramírez in New York City in 1955 and was raised primarily in NJ. Patricia attended St. Anne’s grammar school in Keansburg, NJ. After graduating from Keyport High School, she married and raised two children, Scott and Heather Graves. She was a devoted mother, involved in her children’s lives and in PTA and many after school activities. She loved her children and the privilege of being a mother. Upon divorcing, she pursued her education and obtained a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Salisbury College.
She was Director of the Early Head Start program in Dorchester Maryland but moved to VA. with her second husband, Richard Larsen, in 2018. Patricia retired and took a position at Bundle of Joy Day Care near her home in Glen Allen, VA as a Kindergarten Teacher.
Having spent over thirty years in the educational field, she was looking forward to the birth of her first grandson, setting aside many books for his library, including a first-edition of Moby Dick. In addition to teaching, learning, and enjoying people, she loved easily, especially children, and enjoyed friendships with her students and their parents. She freely shared her smile or a hug with her young students when most needed. To many of them and her peers, she was more than a teacher, she was a trusted friend. She laughed spontaneously and often, and gave of herself generously. She was one of those people others just liked right away. Patricia was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Ms. Pat was predeceased by her husband of 22 years, Richard Anthony Larsen, who passed away just two months ago. Surviving are her son, Scott Graves, his partner Jennifer Berk and their soon-to-be-first-born child. Surviving also are her daughter, Heather Grametbauer and Patricia’s granddaughters, Dakota 12, and Zenyatta, 8.
Her four sisters, with whom she was very close, survive her as well: Sister Victoria Frisenda, Victoria’s four children, eight grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, Sister Diosa Law and her husband, William, their two children and 4 grandchildren, Sister Maxine Politi, her three children, and eight grandchildren, and Sister Janice DiNapoli, her husband, Thomas, and Janice’s two children and one grandchild.
Both Patricia and Richard requested cremation and their ashes will be spread together at the Jersey Shore where they first met. Pictures and condolences may be sent to Richmond Coach and Cremation Services, richmondcoach@verizon.net.
In gratitude for their kindness and loving care, Patricia requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Bon Secours Hospice House, 1133 Old Bon Aire Rd., Richmond, VA 23235, with her thanks to you and to all of those.

Working with Ms. Pat was easy. She went all out for her class. She was grateful for whatever anyone did for her. May the god of all comfort be with the family at this time.
Beloved little sis. Although we are so sad we are to see you go, we celebrate not only your life, but your reunion with Richard, Mom, your Dad, and the many others who are cheering your homecoming. Eternal happiness, dear love
