Charles “CC” Hunter Clay, 58, of Powhatan peacefully passed away on December 18, 2022 from Glioblastoma (Brain Cancer). He was born in Charleston, WV to Donald Hinton Clay and Anna Marie Gwinn Clay. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald H. Clay, maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Gwinn and paternal grandmother, Gladys Clay.He is survived by his mother, Anna M. Clay; wife, Tracy L. Clay; daughter, Tiffany D. Brandeberry (Jake); son, Donald O. Clay; stepchildren, Allyssa A., Katherine M., Richard J., and Leah P. Schonhoeft; and four grandchildren, Kiersten, Leighton, Mason and Josef. He was not only a son, husband, father and grandfather but also a mentor to many people in the Commercial Construction field.He loved his mother, wife, children and grandchildren, watching football and NASCAR races on TV, cooking on the grill, his dogs Daisy Mae and Maxwell Martin and his cats Henri Jamison and Horatio Humphrey. CC never met a stranger.  He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. The family will host a celebration of his life at a later date.
