Barbara Stoll
Born 3-28-1935 Died 11-27-2022
Barbara Ann “Babs” Stoll (Chalmers) of Richmond, Virginia passed away on November 27, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years Erik, son Howard, and son-in-law Tom Myrick. She is survived by son, Kevin Stoll of California, son, Douglas Stoll of Connecticut, and daughter, Karron Myrick of Virginia. Also surviving “Oma” are grandchildren Samantha Stoll, Christopher Stoll, Erica Stoll, Brandon Myrick, and Rachel Myrick.
Barbara graduated in the Class of 1953 from Abraham Clark High School in Roselle, NJ. She graduated from Orange Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1956 and earned her New Jersey Registered Nurse designation in 1957. Barbara had a kind heart and caring nature and practiced this with everyone she encountered.
Barbara was a tremendous person, hearty of spirit beyond measure. She rose to meet the occasions of her life and left an inspired impression on her family, colleagues, and friends. Barbara and her beloved husband, Erik, were incredibly involved in their community where they graciously put everyone else’s needs before their own. With time, talent, and treasure, they contributed significantly to advancing the mission of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Masons, Shriners, and Scouts, among others.
The Stoll’s had a remarkable zest for life, and it was infectious. In retirement, they were great adventurers on land, river, and sea. They saw almost every hill, valley, and river across the nation. They cruised the Great Loop, a 6,000-mile route which circumnavigates the eastern US and part of Canada aboard their own boat “Wishbone”. Along the way, they made many friends hosting fireside chats and meaningful conversations repeatable for generations to come. Her family likes to imagine their beloved mother and grandmother reunited with Erik and their son, Howard for their forever fireside chat in heaven.
The interment will occur in Linden, NJ later in a private family ceremony. To honor Barbara, the family requests spending some quiet time in the great outdoors with your loved ones or a donation to Muscular Dystrophy Association or the James River Association.
