Jeffrey “Jeff” Paul King

Jeffrey “Jeff” Paul King died unexpectedly on October 14, 2022 at the age of 46.

Jeff is survived by his parents: David R King & Corlis Jackson King; his wife: Maria Criselda L King; his son: Michael Anthony Hallbach; his siblings: Stephanie Dawn King & Sharon Denise King Austin; his niece and nephew: Alexandra MaKayla King & Erik James Thompson.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: William Paul King Jr., & Faye Alexander Garmon and Carl B. Jackson & Lucy S Jackson.

Jeff was born on February 17, 1976 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to his parents: David & Corlis King. He was a Certified Tissue Bank Specialist and graduated from University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Major in Exercise Physiology in 1998.

Jeff married the Love of his life, Gia Lalu King in May of 2016 after being in a Long Distance Relationship for 3 years. His son, Michael whom he always affectionately referred to as his “Little Man” is his Pride & Joy. He was a Proud Pitbull Advocate and is a Pittie Dad to Hedwig and Remus.

Jeff was an accomplished professional in the field of Tissue Donation for 17 years. His dedication to his job, and his thorough and meticulous methods have helped save lives, along with countless other Unsung Heroes in the same field.

His larger than life personality did not always win people over at their first encounter, (be sure to ask his wife about this, she’ll know) but once people allowed themselves to accept his unique nature, most will be able to attest to the purest, most wonderful, and one of the strongest friendships they can have in their life.

Jeff’s remains will be cremated to honor his request, and a Celebration of Life on October 22, 2022 will be held at The Answer Brewpub in Richmond, Virginia to toast to his life and bade him fair winds on his next journey.

Another celebration will be held in Spartanburg, South Carolina, some time in December, Final date to be determined.

All are welcome to join the celebration. You may reach out to his wife or his parents for any questions you may have about the gathering. In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to St. Jude or Greenville County Animal Care.
