Violet Mason Barkley of North Chesterfield, Virginia died in her sleep on July 20, 2022.  She was 75 years old.  

Violet was born in Richmond, Virginia in 1947.  She was the daughter of Reverend Wallace Mason and Violet Hamilton Mason. After graduation from the Richmond school system, Violet received a B.S. Degree from Hampton University.  Her love of learning led her to Virginia Commonwealth University where, as an Honor Student, she earned B.S. in Psychology and Masters of Social Work degrees.  During her career as an intensive home therapist, Violet helped many families in Richmond and Chesterfield.

Violet is survived by her husband of 51 years, Oliver Barkley, two children, Oliver R. and Piya K., three grandchildren, several cousins, nephews and nieces.  Violet and Oliver met on the first day of college in 1965 and married in 1971. 

Violet was cremated at Richmond Coach and Cremation Service in a private service.
