Arthur D. Toth, Jr.
Arthur D. Toth, Jr., 65, of Richmond, died surrounded by people who loved him, Sunday, April 24, 2022. Art was preceded in death by his parents; Arthur D. and Gloria Bella Toth. He is survived by his life partner, Steve Forstner and his siblings; Joseph Toth (Suzan), Gloria Lynn Bradley (John). His nieces and nephews; Samantha Bradley, John Bradley, Jr., Joseph, David and Alexandria Toth and many close friends.
Art grew up in Eastpointe, Michigan. A Michigan State University graduate, he prided himself as a loyal Spartans fan. Art entered the retail industry at J.L. Hudson’s in Detroit and later moved to Richmond where he served as Vice President with both Miller and Rhoads and Thalhimer’s.
He later opened La Grande Dame at Grove and Libbie Avenues and thrived in Richmond’s small business industry for nearly thirty years. He was a member of the Diversity Richmond Board of Directors, serving four years as chair.
Art previously served as president of Virginia Terrier Club and also as a member of the board of the Virginia Kennel Club. In 2006, his Welsh Terrier was awarded “Best in Breed” at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.
Memorial services will be private. Donations in Art’s memory may be made to Bon Secours Hospice or Melanoma.org.
