It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother (Nannie) as she has slipped away to fly with the angels.  We gain our comfort in knowing she will be watching over us always!

Fern loved her daily walks around the neighborhood and there was no place she went that she did not strike up a conversation.  If she was not out walking, she was watching her favorite TV shows that included Westerns, Gunsmoke, Matlock, Perry Mason and the good old Andy Griffith Show.  She also loved to read and spend time with her family.  She was her happiest with a good cup of coffee, a slice of cornbread and a steaming hot bowl of soup beans.  Her favorite thing to ask was “do we have any cornbread”.

Her husband of 68 years, George Washington Wright and her son Clyde Randolph Wright precedes her in death.  She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her two sons, Tim (Aggie) Wright of Bedford, VA and Tracy Wright of Chesterfield, VA.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Emily (Jeremiah) Cochenour of Lynchburg, VA, Jacob and Joshua Wright of Chesterfield, VA, her great grandchildren, Kahill, Swayze and Leah, and a devoted ex daughter in law, Mary Wright.

The family has asked that any donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice.
