Ida B. Luck
Ida B. Luck, 87, of Caroline County, VA., formerly West VA, where she moved from to finish her life in the care of her children, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 4, 2021, after a long battle with dementia.
She was preceded in death by her parents (Samuel and Ellen Bates), 6 siblings and 3 loving husbands. She is survived by her children, Deborah L. Griner (Al), Michael A. Lindsey (Elizabeth), Theresa L. Warinner (Glen), William T. Luck, IV (Christy), Elizabeth L. Dyakon (Bill), and step-daughter Susan R. Luck. 12 grandchildren: Julia L. Edwards, Michelle L. Pearson, Albert L. Griner, Laura-Beth L. Norris (Tony), Michael A. Lindsey, Jr. (Stephanie), Brock S. Warinner, Samantha P. Warinner, R. Shane Burnette (Morgan), Mamie I. Luck, William T. Luck, V, Lucy A. Luck, Lily E. Luck, and 13 great-grandchildren: Christopher D. DeCiucis, Summer N. DeCiucis, Jonathan G. Pearson, Lindsey M. Griner, Leah N. Norris, Lyle A. Norris, Lane W. Norris, Gracie L. Lindsey, James W. Lindsey, Ellie M. Lindsey, Allison S. Burnette, Autumn G. Burnette, and Joey A. Finney.
Ida grew up in Glen Allen, Virginia, but through her marriages also got to live in California and West Virginia. She had a long and memorable life as she made lots of friends along the way, loved her family and kept them close. She had many interests that included listening to Elvis Presley albums; especially his gospel tunes. She also enjoyed reading her Bible, gardening, canning, couponing, playing cards, going to the flea market to sell her antique glassware, fishing, going to the racetrack, and time at the river. She worked as head teller for Southern Bank and Central National Bank until motherhood called her away to take care of her growing family.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. for family and friends at Hanover Memorial Park Cemetery, 4447 Mechanicsville Turnpike, Mechanicsville, VA 23111.
Following the graveside service, all friends are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Life service at 12:30 p.m., and a Repast Luncheon at 1:30 p.m., to be held at Meadowbridge Seventh Day Adventist Church, 7400 Antique Lane, Mechanicsville, VA 23116.
Flowers should be sent directly to the funeral home at Richmond Coach & Cremation Services, 8500 Staples Mill Rd., Richmond, VA 23228 , with delivery on Tuesday, November 2nd, or in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Meadowbridge SDA Church or to the Dementia Society of America.
